LA RITOURNELLE*

Got tagged by dear Piduth, seems like a fun game but it took me more than 2 hours to post this up hahaha

1. The age of my next birthday

yeah i’ll be 22 next year. not really looking forward to it since i’d like to stay forever 21!

2. A place (or places) i’d like to travel to.

BRAZIL (Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo), since my parents are moving to Latin America soon, i’d really like to visit other Latin American countries, including Brazil, Peru, Uruguay, Chile.. the list goes on. I’m dying to go to Brazil though, because it has great shoes (think Havainas and Melissa shoes) and a great music scene (CSS and Bonde Do Role, anyone?). I’m not exactly a football fan though. But apparantly Latin America.. Brazil especially, is rather dangerous and has a high crime rate. Scarryyy. 

CZECH REP (Prague), from what I know, Prague is a gorgeous city- all the old-European architecture is still so effortlessly intact! I’m a huge fan of architecture, and I love Europe (just not the place where I used to live, haha!). I really hope I can visit Prague one day, I’m planning on a Euro trip this year but I doubt I can put Prague on the agenda.

GREECE (Athens), ever since I was little, I’ve always wanted to go to Greece! Greek Mythology was also very intriguing, and aroused my interest in the country even more. Plus, ever since I watched Mamma Mia! and saw how breathtaking the landscape is, i was instantly in love  

SOUTH AFRICA, not just on my wish list, but also Mom’s! Because of the amazing amazing jewels they produce here, diamonds rubies sapphires amethysts.. you name it they got it! And also because of the beautiful landscapes. Oooh. They also have a Monash Campus, which looks gorgeous on the pictures.

3. A favorite place.

FLEA MARKETS, i love flea markets cos you never know what kind of gems you can find in markets for such great prices! I go to flea markets and bazaars like twice a month with Bram, and I always end up getting amazing second-hand vintage pieces or accessories.. one of my best finds is this beige Chanel purse from Gedebage, Bandung.

MY SWIMMING POOL, my parents just had a swimming pool done in our house in Cinere, after like 20 years in the making, hahaha. If you saw how my backyard looked before, you’ll be surprised that a swimming pool even fits! But I love my pool, it’s a great chillout spot and I’m kind of sad that my house is being rented out

4. A favorite food.

PANCAKES, a great breakfast for me includes pancakes and maple syrup! but these days, pancakes are all the rave in Jakarta, since the opening of Pancious. However for me, I’ve always been a Pancake fan (when i was little, my parents would stop by IHOP on our cross-country road trips, while in here I’m always up for Paddington House of Pancakes with Myla)

5. Favorite Things.

CAMERAS, well I don’t have this golden-half, but ever since I was little I had this love affair with cameras.  When I was seven, I got a 110mm toy camera for my birthday that I used to take random pics (I even had a picture of my brother mooning his butt), and in junior high I was always carrying a camera with me.  I used have a collection of cameras, including a Fish-eye, a Diana+, a Polaroid Joycam, and also a compact digital camera. But I’m kinda growing out of my lomography phase, now all i have is a canon powershot a1000is and I really really want to learn photography with a DSLR.  
 

6. Favorite Color.

PLUM PURPLE, a combination between red and purple. For some reason I think this color suits my personality and aura best. Weird.   

7. Where I was born.

SYDNEY AUSTRALIA, during my dad’s first posting. Although I only stayed there until I was 2 years old, I’ve went there twice for holiday and I want to go there again, maybe get a PR and even live there? And FYI, my parents originally wanted to name me ‘Sydney’ instead of ‘Siti’, but my mom thought my name’ll be too western! HAHA 

8. A City I’ve lived in

BEIJING CHINA, I miss the times I had here! It is one of the best places I’ve ever lived in, because the people are amazing, food and shopping and alcohol is cheap, and the culture clash is just a crazy unforgettable experience. The last time I went to Beijing was in 2007, and it changed alot since I moved! More people can speak english, the roads are cleaner, and more high-rise buildings.. though it was a better, more capitalized Beijing, it wasn’t the same Beijing I used to live in.

9. A nickname that i have.

KAMEI, my chinese name, which means card (Ka) and plum blossom (Mei). It’s a bit random, but I think the flower part works. Besides Kamei, lots of people have been giving me alterations for my nickname- kemichii, kemochi, kemci, and so on and so on. (but fyi, kemochi means ‘feels good’ in japanese. HAHAHA)

10. College Major.

COMMUNICATION, what I learn though, is not similar to mass communication. I learn alot of -isms, theories, and school of thoughts, and this guy above, Michel Foucault, is one of those people that burdens me with alot of deep thinking! So if I become such a cynic, or a pervert even, it’s because of Foucault and Co.!!

11. Hobby.

WRITING, but now technology allows us to use our fingers not to write, but to type up stories, proses, poems, blog excerpts, etc. I used to keep a journal where I write down poems, but now I have this blog.

12. Bad habit.

GOSSIPING, I guess this is every girl’s bad habit? My gossiping habits get really bad when I met up with my gossip girls! and when I have nothing to do I go online on facebook and hunt for gossip. That’s bad, I know. I’m trying to limit my gossip-ing, and try not to hurt people when i do..

13. Name of my love.

ABRAHAM, hahahahahha, what showed up is a picture of Ibrahim and Ismail pas Ibrahim mau menyembelih anaknya (the story behind Idul Adha)

14. Wishlist.

*LONGCHAMP LE PLIAGE, I have two already (in purple and grey) but I want another one!
*CANON 450D
*GRADUATE, one more semester left
*ENJOY LIFE in sunway for my last semester (without gangguan-gangguan dari orang-orang gak penting!)
*MAKE MY PARENTS PROUD
